Lima has great treasures that sometimes go unnoticed due to the great gastronomic offer. Therefore, on this occasion, we present a short but delicious route along Choquehuanca Street in San Isidro, where pastas and pizzas are a favorite. Take note!

Pasta

When it comes to fresh pasta, the proposal created by Janice Buraschi and Juan Manuel Umbert is a favorite. In an intimate space with an open kitchen, the founders and their team amaze diners with the preparation of different types of fresh pasta – some filled – in which simple and impeccable flavors prevail.

As a starter we recommend the homemade stracciatella, one of the best we have ever tried. “We believe that each pasta is designed for a certain type of sauce or accompaniments and we serve them that way,” explains Juan Manuel about the menu. An example is spaghetti alle vongole or artichoke cappellacci. Finally, a 70% cioccolato cake cannot be missed.

Mr. Lemon

At the intersection of Av. Los Conquistadores and Choquehuanca Street is one of the Señor Limón locations, a seafood restaurant that has more than 5 locations in different districts.

Their dishes are hearty, seasoned correctly and offer a wide variety of starters, ceviche, soups and even whole fish. Its cause festival presents four varieties: with olive octopus, with crab pulp, with prawns and with fan shells.

If it is ceviche, the mixed one is a good recommendation as it combines a mixture of seafood with generous pieces of fish. You can’t miss the shelled corn and the sweet potato.

One of the house specialties is grilled octopus, marinated in chimichurri and served with Andean chips and vegetables. Another delight is the whole cheetah with crunchy garlic, which is accompanied with fried yuccas.

Rossa Pizza Appassionata

This proposal went from being a dark kitchen to having a physical location in San Isidro. As its name reveals, pizzas are part of the essence of the restaurant, but not the only delights that can be found there. The proposal celebrates Italian cuisine with an irrevent touch, flirting with different snacks and interesting flavor combinations.

Among its starters we find piadinas, a donut filled with stracciatella and eggplant alla parmigiana, among others. Some of the dishes available are lasagna bolognese, chicken Milanese and spaghetti with pesto.

Without a doubt, their forte is the pizzas, thin, with a delicious dough and fresh ingredients. They currently have a selection of 10 options. A favorite is #8, which includes smoked provolone, crispy ham, red onion, rosemary and a touch of lemon zest.
