Power outages: government promises home visits to at-risk people

The goal is to clear the soil and somehow calm down. Energy Transition Minister Agnès Pannier-Runachet assures this Wednesday that people at high risk in life will be subject to individual surveillance if France experiences power outages in the coming weeks.

This position comes two days after the statement of the Enedis representative in charge of power grid management. On Monday, Laurent Merik explained on the set of BFM that “people with high life risks are not among the priority clients identified by the prefectures.” He took care to indicate that “we will call them, we will send them an SMS, an email to see if they have taken precautions. “They can then be taken” to a place where there will be no relief, so that they will be given the greatest guarantee.”

“Just because we’re working on a traffic accident doesn’t mean it’s going to happen”

Asked about BFMTV and RMC, Agnès Pannier-Runashe says she “had to reformulate (Enedis) very straight forward. We don’t start talking about life support patients as a product.” “High life risk patients are on the Enedis list and if the answer is no, we find a solution. »

She adds that “the spokeswoman doesn’t go all the way. Because it doesn’t say we go to people’s homes to make sure there’s no risk. If Enedis agents can’t get to them, they go to the house.”

But, perked up to find out whether it is true or false that people at risk may be deprived of power, the minister refuses to answer and sidesteps the issue. “The scenarios we are working on have an extremely low probability. Just because we’re working on a traffic accident doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Just because we’re working on it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. The main thing is how we continue to reduce electricity consumption. »
