Energy: Emmanuel Macron asks suppliers to ‘revise’ ‘excessive contracts’ in January

He wants to calm down. Emmanuel Macron addressed bakers and, more broadly, all entrepreneurs affected by the energy crisis this Thursday at noon on the occasion of the Epiphany ceremony.

Recalling that this price increase was due “primarily to the war” and also to the fact that France “did not produce as much electricity with its nuclear fleet” as expected, the Head of State calculated that two-thirds of the VSE (very small enterprises) had to revise their energy contracts.

“Revisit” “excessive contracts”

“Some have entered into contracts that increase in reasonable proportions. But there are others who had x5 or x10, and this is not normal, it is insulting and not normal, ”he scored. So he urged suppliers to “revise” the “excessive contracts” in January. I have “enough” of those who are making “superprofits” during this crisis period, he further confirmed.

Emmanuel Macron also recalled that the state would take on “40% growth” in energy prices. “These increases must be reasonable, they must be accepted by all.” If he explained that the toll-free number dedicated to raising energy prices was not working, then the President of the Republic announced that departmental numbers would be relayed “from Monday.”
