Emmanuel Macron’s popularity has fallen to a minimum in three years

Emmanuel Macron’s popularity ratings fell two points in February to their lowest level in three years: 32% of French people are satisfied with his actions, according to an Ifop poll for the Journal du Dimanche.

However, carefully placed on the sidelines of the pension reform debate he has initiated, the head of state bears the brunt of a political and social climate that is more hostile to his government and its majority.

Thus, since the start of the school year in September and the launch of the pension project, it has fallen by a total of six points, thus returning to the low water levels that existed before the Covid crisis.

According to this monthly barometer, Emmanuel Macron is regressing in particular among LR supporters (-12 points) and even among his voters in the first round (-4 points).

Elizabeth Bourne was not spared

His prime minister is no better: Elizabeth Bourne sees her popularity drop 3 points to 29% of positive opinions, her lowest since taking office at Matignon last May.

The survey was conducted from February 9 to February 16, 2023 on a sample of 1952 people representing the population of France aged 18 and over, using a quota method with an error of 1 to 2.3 points.
