Racist slurs, calls for murder… Olivier Faure reveals offensive letters he received

Olivier Faure admits this is not the first insulting letter he has received from “far-right voters”. Yet the First Secretary of the PS took the trouble to share on X (ex-Twitter) a particularly offensive anonymous letter on Tuesday.

This letter, openly racist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic and adorned with death threats, “deserves to be a good summing up of all the rest,” writes the deputy for Seine and Marne, attaching a copy of said letter: which was typed and not handwritten. “The Trivialization of EXD (far right) unleashes the craziest impulses,” he laments.

Throughout the letter, entitled “Enemies from within,” insults to the first secretary of the PS are cheerfully erupted: “reptile”, “garbage of its kind”, “devilish animal”. Olivier Faure, whose photo graces the mail, is even called a “kinetok” because of his Vietnamese origin.

Xenophobic statements follow one another: between the calls to “gas all the lower races of African origin” or “extirpate all Masons and other enemies from within”, the author of the letter calls for the rehabilitation of Marshal Pétain (red formula). typeface) then reminds that “Hitler was right” (formula in yellow type).

Political outrage

“The number of letters from far-right voters is on the rise. This is not about complaints, but about raising awareness of the dynamics being propagated by the far right,” explains Olivier Faure, who was contacted by Le Parisien. “What touches me is to see people who are sometimes hurt and who find solace only in the hatred of others,” continues the elected socialist.

At X, many elected officials reacted to Olivier Faure’s message. “Unacceptable and disgusting” for the president of a socialist group Boris Vallowhile, among other things, Sandrine Rousseau, Manuel Bompard, Thomas Gates, Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol or Carlos Martens Bilongo provided “support” to the former representative of the PS. Meanwhile, Carol Delga delivered a clear message: “We will not let our guard down, nor our eyes on the extreme right,” writes the president of the Occitania region.

“Here are the concrete consequences of the trivialization of the extreme right: cowardly intimidation, stigmatization of origin, political anathema, nostalgia for the Third Reich,” the General Secretary of the PS was indignant. Pierre Jouvet while the national party secretary Sebastian Vincini criticizes “unacceptable statements that have no place in our republic.”

“They filed a complaint without hesitation, reacted on their part Lycra on X. We will be at your side to demand exemplary sanctions against those who, by attacking you, hate democracy, vilify the Republic and mutilate humanity. »
