Medef opposes the obligation to telework

Medef is opposed to teleworking being made compulsory, indicated its president, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, on Tuesday, encouraging business leaders to “re-mobilize” on the subject.

“We must let the local social dialogue take place”, declared the president of Medef on BFMTV / RMC, adding that “there are many companies which have signed agreements”.

Frustration for those who cannot telecommute

“Business leaders can remobilize themselves on teleworking, but no obligation”, added the leader of the first French employers’ organization. He considers that the decision taken by Belgium in the face of the resurgence of the epidemic to make telework compulsory four days out of five wherever possible “is a mistake”.

According to Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux, teleworking “sometimes creates a feeling of incomprehension and frustration for those who cannot telework”. “I see a lot of industrial companies which ask their administrative executives not to telework in order to create a feeling of equality between those who are posted on the chain or elsewhere and those who can telework,” he explained.
