The Discord communication platform has been integrated with PlayStation, with the possibility of connecting the accounts of both services so that its users can show the PS4 and PS5 video games they are playing.

The connection of Discord and PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts will gradually spread – first in the United States – and will allow information about PS4 and PS5 games to appear in profile activity, as reported by Discord in a statement. .

This measure is the first that crystallizes in Discord after the announcement of its alliance with PlayStation in May 2021, when it announced that it contemplated its integration into the PlayStation social experience in this year 2022.

By connecting to the two services, Discord users can also choose to have their PSN ID displayed on their profile so their friends can add them to their community or play games online.

Like the other 11 services with which Discord is already integrated -such as Xbox, Steam, YouTube and Facebook, among others-, this function is carried out from the application’s settings menu, in the ‘connections’ section, where the PlayStation icon will now appear.

Subsequently, a browser pop-up opens so that the user can also authorize their PlayStation Network account. Within the feature, users will be able to choose between two options if they prefer to show their PS4 and PS5 games or show their PSN ID.

The ability to connect a Discord account to a PlayStation Network account will roll out starting this Monday and will be available on all platforms the platform is on: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and the web app.
