Lima, February 2, 2022Updated on 02/02/2022 07:42 pm

Carlos Zambrano lined up as a starter in the matches before Colombia and Ecuador for the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. The defender collaborated to keep Pedro Gallese’s goal clean in Barranquilla and controlled Gonzalo Plata at the National Stadium.

After the draw against the ‘Tri’, the ‘León’ published a message—through their social networks—in which they analyzed what it meant to rescue a point in a game that we started losing. “It was a very tough game against a great Ecuadorian team. We still fought until the end to be able to get the 3 points, but that’s football.”began his text.

The Boca Juniors player made it clear that the team is united and is psyched up for the last two days. “We still continue with faith intact we have 2 finals left. Proud of this group and of being Peruvian. Go, Peru ! God is love”he added.

“Great Carlos, good game”, “You became a leader”, Come on Zambrano. We trust you”, “Keep it up, great performance in the match” or “You can rank fourth!”were some of the messages from users.

How is Peru doing in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers?

The Peruvian team adds 21 units and is located in the fifth position which grants the playoff. In the next double matchday they will face Uruguay in Montevideo and will close against Paraguay in Lima at the end of March (Conmebol has not yet confirmed the dates or times). If Gareca’s squad wins both games, they will qualify directly for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
