PSG took a big step on Tuesday in its goal of qualifying for the Champions League quarterfinals. The Parisian team beat Real Madrid 1-0, with a great goal from Kyian Mbappé, of whom the coach of the local team, Mauricio Pochettino, highlighted his work after the duel at the Parc des Princes.

“Kylian is one of the best. He has been showing it for a few years. I find it hard to find words to say how good he is. He is showing enormous maturity and that he is capable of continuing to evolve”said the Argentine, at a press conference.

“I think he has the potential to continue growing as a footballer. Hopefully he will be with us for many years, and later, football will say “added Pochettino, in command of PSG since January 2021.

The PSG coach also highlighted the work of the entire group to achieve victory and go with the advantage to Madrid on March 9, where the quarterfinal key will be defined.

“It was a match that we had dreamed of and worked to develop as we have seen. Let’s highlight the team’s work. The team has shown great commitment. With the ball, we should have been a bit more aggressive in the last third. We are happy because we won the match in the last action and deservedly so”assured.

On the other hand, Pochettino referred to the missed penalty by Lionel Messi, who wasted the chance to give the Parisians the lead in the 62nd minute.

“If the team has shown a high level of play, it is thanks to Messi, he played a great game today, he lacked to crown it with that penalty goal. We often talk, you can win one, two or three games at the last minute, but if a team shows that predisposition to keep looking for it, it means that you have that quality. A penalty for not scoring the penalty, but this is football.”sentenced.
