Carlos Bustos on Alianza Lima’s victory: “This team represents the club well”

Alianza Lima got its first victory of the season this Sunday, after coming back and beating Carlos A. Mannucci, on date 3 of the Opening Tournament. Coach Carlos Bustos highlighted the performance of the players from the ‘Blue and Whites’ squad, who responded intelligently to the adversities in the match.

The expulsion made the game more complicated, but the team always sought, always tried to unbalance. We undeservedly went into half-time at a disadvantage and in the second half, working with one less player for the most part, we found a way to do damage”, explained the coach at a press conference.

In the same way, the strategist highlighted the importance of the result at this start of the season. “It was a victory that we all wanted. It was not the tournament start we intended. We are happy for the commitment and dedication of the players to always go looking for”, he stated.

We needed this victory to be firm and we worked all week with the mission of permanently giving people joy. I think that this squad has represented Alianza Lima well for a long time”, added the DT.

In addition, Carlos Bustos praised the good performance of his managers: “The team can play in different ways, this is a very complete squad, we have many variants. Unfortunately we started with two draws, which for me we did not deserve. Against Sport Boys we were able to win it and also against Atlético Grau. That reflects that the tournament is going to be difficult, very complicated”.

There is joy for this triumph. The whole match was played well. At the beginning the goal was not given, one of us was expelled and we started losing against a rival that had hardly generated any chances. We try to get there in different ways. The result was necessary, more than anything because sometimes from the outside it seems that things are not going well, but we work calmly“, Held.

Finally, Carlos Bustos referred to Benavente’s debut and Farfán’s absence. “Cristian is fine, he was a long time without activity. They were his first training sessions with us and little by little he will find his best form, that is logical and normal. For his part, Jefferson is improving and has been training double shifts, with us and with the Peruvian team. Beyond what one can plan, we will have to wait and see how it feels”, he sentenced.
