Gianni Infantino condemned Russia’s attacks on Ukraine: “I am worried about this situation”

Many authorities have spoken out regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which on February 24 resulted in military intervention in Ukrainian cities. FIFA, the highest soccer entity, already has its position, through its president, Giani Infantino.

“I have been shocked by what I have seen. I am worried about this situation. FIFA condemns the use of force by Russia. Violence is never a solution. We ask all actors to restore peace through constructive dialogue”.

“The situation that we all discovered this morning is obviously very tragic and very worrying. We have a duty to look at this matter carefully. We strongly believe in it. We have a body that can make decisions at any time. We will make decisions when appropriate”, Gianni added at a press conference.

UEFA was also against what was ordered by the Russian authorities and will hold a meeting where everything indicates that they will define a new venue for the final of the Champions Leaguewhich was to be played in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Many foreign soccer players who play for teams in the First Division of Ukraine have expressed their fear of the recent attacks. Many of them are looking for a way out of the country, but because flights for civilians have been suspended, they try to reach Poland.
