Thinking about the next qualifying processes of the Peruvian team to a World Cup, one of the strikers who appears with more conditions to be a starter, is Percy Lizaa 21-year-old player who plays for Sporting Crystal. He adds 24 games and 9 goals in his first years in the League 1.

In the recent press conference in La Videna, facing the last two dates of the Qualifying for Qatar 2022Gareca spoke about the present of Percy Liza, who is still not called up to the Peruvian team.

“Percy Liza is a great promise of Peruvian soccer and we are following him closely.” Regarding his absence from the list, he indicated: “We believe that for these dates there are no reasons to change the forwards that have been called up”.

With Paolo Guerrero and Jefferson Farfán without adding minutes, and due to an age issue, they will not be present in the next Qualifiers. Gianluca Lapadula will still be around, but more alternatives are needed.

Alex Valera and Santiago Ormeño are the other strikers that Ricardo Gareca has been calling up. The first is the undisputed starter in Universitario and has already shown signs of being a contribution to be taken into account in the red and white team.

With Santiago Ormeño he has another ‘9’ of reference and although he did not have a good game against Ecuador in the 1-1 draw at the National Stadium, Gareca once again trusts him. The best of Santiago was seen against Bolivia and against Colombia, having spaces to associate and win long balls.
