Tito Ordóñez on Alianza-River of Copa Libertadores: “For us the game is played”

In Argentina there is uncertainty regarding the development of Alianza Lima vs. River Plate on Wednesday, April 6 for the first day of the Copa Libertadores. However, from Peru, the situation seems to be controlled, at least that is the position expressed this Tuesday by the delegate of the Victorians, ‘Tito’ Ordóñez.

The representative of the Blue and Whites gave an interview to TyC Sports to confirm that nothing has changed in relation to the scheduled commitment at the National Stadium. In that sense, Ordóñez told the Argentine sports channel that the cup game is still going on without any changes.

“There is a convulsive situation, the strike of the Transport union was the trigger, but for us the game is played, we have the guarantees of the police. The curfew ends tomorrow (Wednesday) and is not strict. There is no situation for the match to be suspended.”said the spokesman for Alianza Lima.

Immediately, Ordóñez deepened: “There was a meeting with the Ministry of the Interior and we work normally. We answered Conmebol’s questions, we are in permanent communication with them and Lima Airport works naturally”he added in relation to the situation, despite the social protests reported throughout the country.

“It will be played normally and with the public. We have already sold more than half of the tickets and the Alianza fan is always with us”concluded around the debut in the Copa Libertadores against River Plate in group F of the continental tournament that also includes Colo Colo from Chile and Fortaleza from Brazil.

Doubts in River Plate

According to information from TyC Sports, the River Plate board has suspended the trip to Lima this afternoon to face the cup contest. Likewise, if the highest body in South American soccer determines that the match will not be played tomorrow, the event will be rescheduled and the venue will remain.

While ESPN reinforced the version about the displacement of the ‘Band’. “The leaders and the coaching staff have the information that it is most likely that today they will not end up traveling to Lima and that the match will be rescheduled for Thursday, changing the venue, or with a date to be confirmed in a calendar that is increasingly tight, which is the main problem”.

Along the same lines, the international chain advanced the position of Conmebol in relation to the aforementioned commitment. “He will only give official information when everything is confirmed. He usually takes the position of playing so as not to have asterisks on the calendar “They close on the matter.
