The injury suffered by Robert Rojas at the end of Alianza Lima vs. River Plate was the unfortunate thing about the “millionaire” debut in the 2022 Copa Libertadores, Marcelo Gallardo said after the match played at Nacional. The Paraguayan defender could have several months off after abandoning the duel due to a strong foul by Aldair Rodríguez.

“Studies are going to be done, but he may have a fracture in the tibia and that, although it has to be confirmed, may be an injury that will take him a long time to recover”, said the ‘Muñeco’ with concern at a press conference.
“Although he is strong and will return well, the sadness of his injury is the bitter taste that we have”, added Gallardo, who comforted Rojas as he left on a stretcher and was later informed by doctors about the seriousness of his injury.

In the 89th minute, Aldair Rodríguez was expelled after a kick to Rojas that made the River footballer leave the field between expressions of deep pain.
The ‘Millionaire’ won with a goal from Matías Suárez and added three in his debut in group F of the Copa Libertadores 2022, also made up of Fortaleza from Brazil and Colo Colo from Chile.
