Cruz Azul fans asked for the departure of Juan Reynoso due to a new defeat in Liga MX

The irregularity of Cruz Azul throughout the Clausura 2022 Tournament of Liga MX was again evident this Sunday, with the loss at home against Atlético San Luis (0-1). The fans of the ‘Machine’ were upset with the development of the team and showed their discomfort with a great whistle.

After the final whistle from referee Jesús Rafael López, the ‘Cementeros’ fans who arrived at the Azteca Stadium began booing and there was a phrase that was repeated in unison: “Out Juan Reynoso”. The coach and the players, obviously dissatisfied with the defeat, had no choice but to accept the signal of criticism from all the fans.

It is worth mentioning that Cruz Azul is going through a notorious crisis playing at home recently: it tied 0-0 with Pumas UNAM, which caused the elimination of the Concachampions; and fell 0-1 against Chivas de Guadalajara and Atlético San Luis for Liga MX. At the same time, the most outstanding thing is that the squad could not score goals in those games.

And so far in the 2022 season, those led by Juan Reynoso had 12 home appearances, won six, tied once and lost five times. Due to this poor performance, the confidence of the fans to celebrate a title again was diminishing.

Now, the ‘Machine’ must aim all its power at the last date of the Closing Tournament, against America, where it could obtain direct pass to the quarterfinals of the league. However, the club does not only depend on its victory over the ‘Eagles’, since a defeat of Puebla or Atlas must also occur.

The match Cruz Azul vs. America will be played next Saturday, April 30, from 9:00 pm (Peruvian and Mexican time) at the Azteca Stadium. Currently, the ‘Eagles’ (5th) have 25 points and the ‘Cementeros’ (6th) add 24 units, so it will be a direct duel to enter the places of access to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
