IPD after journalistic report on courtesy tickets: “The management has been completely transparent”

Last Sunday, a report called ‘La Otra Repartija’ was broadcast on the TV Latina channel. In it, it was pointed out that the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) arbitrarily assigned institutional tickets to different public entities and state authorities. Given this, the institution decided to respond to the accusations of the media through a comprehensive statement.

The national entity ruled out that there has been a misuse of the tickets assigned to public officials: “The courtesy tickets that we receive as the leasing institution of the National Stadium are precisely to give to the guests that the institution considers pertinent.”.

There is no correlation between said tickets and the general public since its nature is to be a gift for guests, as its name indicates and it appears that way in the lease. That is to say, they do not have a commercial value, they cannot be sold, much less their use displaces any ‘ordinary fan’ of their right to enter the sports venue.”, added the institution in its statement.

In addition to this, they highlighted that the priority when delivering the courtesy tickets was for important charitable institutions such as INABIF, the Pérez Aranibar childcare center, among others.

One of the most striking details within the statement was the end of the “hierarchy” of the State at the time of giving courtesies, indicating that “this does not represent any misuse, since the purpose is precisely that the guests participate in the event thanks to the disposition of the landlord, in this case the FPF”.

We reiterate that the handling of courtesy tickets has been completely transparent, orderly and correct, such is the commitment that the IPD has assumed before the citizenry”, the statement ends.
