Jorge Bermúdez, after gifts to the referees: “In each game we give a present to the refereeing body”

Yesterday, Boca Juniors defeated Always Ready by the slightest difference with a controversial penalty sanctioned by the referee, Kevin Ortega. After this fact, the President of the Bolivian club, Andrés Costa, launched a claim against the ‘Xeneize’ club.

“We make public a complaint that a police officer has made of having seen Boca Juniors leaders who would have given gifts to the referees”Coast declared.

After those statements, Bermúdez responded. “I always like to talk about serious, important things, and I am going to tell you the truth, so that everyone knows. Since we are in Boca, as a Council, in each match we have the courtesy and delicacy of giving a present to the arbitration body, in all the matches that we are, there are witnesses. With height or dignity, we never went to ask for the shirt because they were wrong and we are not going to go now, ha. The situation makes me laugh”he expressed.

“We as the Football Council have always given presents to the refereeing body, we have done so since our cycle began. We have not been prevented to avoid making a present that is simply a shirt, and wish him the best of luck “he added.

Finally, he referred to arbitration. “Normal, it seemed normal to me, I did not see an abnormal situation. We have never characterized ourselves by talking about details. The penalty play is difficult, the goalkeeper comes out quickly, collides with the player and the ball, going out to signal a referee without VAR is unfair. It seemed like normal refereeing to me.”
