Pep Guardiola viralizes response to a journalist who is a fan of Manchester United: “I’m sorry”

Pep Guardiola remains in a good mood despite being eliminated from the Champions League against Real Madrid. In fact, Manchester City responded to the height in the previous day of the Premier League and thrashed Newcastle 5-0 to take a three-point lead over Liverpool (they drew 1-1 with Tottenham) in the race for the title.

After prevailing over the ‘Magpies’, the technician attended the media and in the room he starred in a moment that has gone viral on social networks. The Spaniard joked with a reporter for his confessed support of Manchester United, the eternal rival of the ‘Citizens’ and who is having a hard time this season.

According to the images that circulate on the Internet, the journalist consulted the former Barcelona player about the wear and tear that visiting the Santiago Bernabeú represented and then facing the duel for the local tournament. Also, the communicator added if he should feel “ecstatic” by the performance shown against Newcastle.

“Did you have any questions?”Pep started. “Yes, you are a Liverpool fan. Go”Guardiola added with a smile. Later, another of those present clarified that the journalist is actually from Manchester United. To which the strategist replied: “I’m sorry James”. After that, laughter filled the press room.

Guardiola’s response makes a clear reference to the ‘Red Devils’ bad campaign. Only last weekend they lost 4-0 against Brighton and definitively said goodbye to the Champions League. Above, it is possible that the ‘Red Devils’ end up in the Conference League or, in the worst case, without international participation.

And that is not United’s only punishment, as City is close to winning the Premier League again: the fourth trophy in five years. Those of Pep must win the three remaining commitments until the end to add a new crown that will be exhibited in the showcases of the institution.

In parallel, the ‘Red Devils’ hope to leave the bad moment at the hands of Erik Ten Hag, the coach who will arrive next year. The Dutchman points out as the key man to return United to the glory days they had under the command of the retired Sir Alex Ferguson.
