Peruvian national team: Néstor Bonillo spoke about the case of Byron Castillo

FIFA opened a disciplinary process to analyze the case of Byron Castillo who defended Ecuador in the Qualifiers, but Chile argues that he is actually Colombian. In this regard, the governing body of soccer invited the Peruvian team to offer a position on the subject.

However, Néstor Bonillo, physical trainer of the ‘Blanquirroja’, said that the team is focused on the playoff on June 13 against the United Arab Emirates or Australia. He thus declared it for Canal N.

“The Federation has a group of professionals who are going to take care of the issue. We focus solely on the sporty aspect. There are professionals in the field, telling you something would be from the most absolute ignorance “explained the Argentine.

The member of Ricardo Gareca’s technical command made it clear that the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) will work on the issue. “What we have to do one hundred percent is to concentrate on what we have been doing and then the people in charge of this situation will clarify the issues for us at the right time.”.

What is Chile’s complaint about Ecuador?

The Chilean Football Federation filed a complaint with FIFA against its counterpart in Ecuador for the “use of false birth certificate, false declaration of age and false nationality” of the player Byron Castillo, who would have been born in Colombia and awaits a quick ruling from the world body on the subject.

But the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) rejected the complaint and assured that Castillo is “duly registered with the competent legal authority” and has “all the national documentation in order”he said in a statement.

If FIFA accepts Chile’s complaint, Ecuador could lose the points from the matches in which Castillo played in the South American qualifying round, in which he won the last direct quota place in the region for the Qatar World Cup, and his place would pass to the hands of Chili.
