Absence does not pass. Idrissa Gueye, yet present in the Parisian group during the trip to Montpellier, was not on the score sheet this weekend. The track of the injury quickly evacuated by Mauricio Pochettino, who will evoke, a bit embarrassed at the end of the meeting, “personal reasons”, gives way to another, more disturbing. According to The Parisian and RMC Sport, the absence of the Parisian midfielder was linked to a refusal to participate in the day against homophobia, an initiative set up by the LFP since 2019 and materialized, among other things, by rainbow flocking -sky. With a slogan “gays or heteros, we all wear the same jersey”, which Gueye obviously does not adhere to.

A boycott that would have disappointed internally
Last year, the Parisian player had missed the reception of the Stade de Reims, which also coincided with the day of the fight against homophobia, officially because of gastroenteritis. According to The Parisian, Gueye’s boycott would have disappointed several people internally at PSG. The player’s entourage refuses to comment but recognizes a “sensitive subject”. Which could be expensive.
