Tour of the World Cup trophy will start in Dubai and is soon to reach Latin America

The Trophy Tour World cup of the FIFA kicked off on May 20 with a kick-off event in Dubai, where former FIFA World Cup champions Iker Casillas (2010) and Kaká (2002) came together to kick off the journey that will take in all qualifying countries .

From mid-October to the first week of November, the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour will visit Latin America. Five countries are confirmed to receive the trophy as they have a direct ticket to the next World Cup: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador and Mexico.

If Peru and Costa Rica manage to get through their playoff matches, the tour will extend through those countries. “The FIFA World Cup trophy is one of the greatest symbols in sport. Taking him on tour gives us a unique opportunity to highlight the amazing communities around the world who love this amazing sport.”indicated Romy Gai, FIFA representative.

Kaka commented: “It is an incredible honor to be part of the first stop of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour. My first World Cup as a player was when I was 20 years old, and that moment is still fresh in my memory. For me, it was a dream come true”.

Iker Casillas, captain of Spain in South Africa 2010, said: “It was the highlight of my career when I lifted this very trophy as captain of Spain in 2010. And it’s exciting that this year, someone gets to experience that feeling in Qatar. It fills me with pride to join all of you today, as we kick off the tour.”.
