Gallardo hopes Julián stays at River: “If they want to give him up until the end of the year, we would be grateful”

Julián Álvarez became the figure of River Plate’s lofty victory (8-1) over Alianza Lima by scoring six goals on the sixth day of group F of the Copa Libertadores. In this regard, the DT of the ‘Millionaire’ filled Julián Álvarez with praise that in June he will have to leave for Manchester City.

In that sense, the ‘Muñeco’ highlighted that the English team wins an excellent footballer. “It is difficult because there is a team that made a great investment. It takes a diamond in the rough, we are exporting countries of players. Many players left during this time and we have tried to survive”, mentioned at a press conference.

“Replacing him is not going to be easy, we are not going to find a Julián who comes to take Julián’s place. He is going to play the round of 16 and will go to his new destination. What may happen does not depend on me or what we can do.”he pointed.

In the same way, he pointed out that he would like the Argentine attacker’s loan to be extended. “If I can talk to Guardiola so that they leave him for six more months? If they want to give it up until the end of the year, we won’t have any problems and we’ll be grateful.”he added.

“We are going to prepare a footballer who is ready to make the leap, but we can give him more flight. He is not going to listen to my request, but we would be very grateful if he leaves it until the end of the year ”added Marcelo Gallardo.
