André Carrillo overcame his injury and will be a substitute with Al-Hilal in the Saudi league

The concern about the state of André Carrillo has been dissipating in recent days. In the middle of the week, the attacker appeared training with the Al-Hilal squad, after his long injury, and this Sunday he will have the opportunity to add minutes: he will be a substitute against Abha in the Saudi Arabian Professional League.

Let’s remember that the ‘Culebra’ was diagnosed with a sprain in the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, which happened during the match against Uruguay (March 24), on the penultimate date of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. Because of this, the attacker followed a long recovery process.

After complying with the recommendations of the doctors, Carrillo was able to demand a little more at work and he was already showing off with his colleagues in Al-Hilal. The panorama was favorable for André and finally his coach, the Argentine Ramón Díaz, decided to consider him on date 28 of the Saudi league, prior to the FIFA Date.

Hours before kick-off at the MRSOOL Park stadium in Riyadh, the club’s official line-up was revealed and the ‘Culebra’ appears as a member of the substitutes’ bench, wearing his usual number 19. Depending on the circumstances of the match, the striker could add minutes on the field.

It is worth mentioning that Carrillo last played in the Al-Hilal jersey on March 18, in a 4-2 victory over Al Ahli SC. That time, the Peruvian was a starter and was up to 84 ′, without the possibility of directly participating in the goals (he currently has four goals and two assists in the Saudi Arabian Professional League).

After this match, André will join the concentration of the Peruvian team, which is already in Barcelona to continue training. The ‘Blanquirroja’ is targeting the friendly against New Zealand (Sunday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. Peru time) and the playoff for the Qatar 2022 World Cup (Monday, June 13, at 1:00 p.m. Peru), against the winner of Australia vs. Arab Emirates.
