Diego Romero highlights the second half of the ‘U’: “If we continue like this, we will achieve many good things”

Universitario de Deportes lost (2-0) this Sunday afternoon at the hands of Melgar and wasted a great opportunity to get closer to the leader, something that would have allowed him to have more options to fight to win the Opening Tournament. After the match, the goalkeeper of the cream box, Diego Romero, one of the figures on the field, lamented the result.

“I consider that the team always wins. I try to give my best. Unfortunately, the result was not given, but we have to continue working, there is no other way”, he assured in dialogue with GOLPERU.

Of course, Romero did not dare to say explicitly if his team had no chance of being first. “The truth is that we continue to move forward, we never lower our arms. We know that we are in the ‘U’ and we have to win every game. There is no chance to lose. We just have to go forward”commented.

“It is complicated, but everything is possible. We planned a better game in the second half and, if we continue like this, we are going to achieve many good things”analyzed the goalkeeper, who played his fourth game in the tournament in Arequipa.

The 20-year-old athlete continued to mourn the fall. “I wish I had won it, really. He always wants to give the best of me, that the team wins. We have to keep working”he expressed.

On the other hand, Romero referred to the play he starred in with Kevin Quevedo, which ended with a penalty in favor of ‘Domino’. “I think I do touch Quevedo, but what I feel is that he bites it very long and it hits me. They are things of the referee, he made a decision ”, he explained.
