Love was stronger: Arturo Vidal rejected juicy offers from the United States and Qatar for Flamengo

Arturo Vidal is ready to start a new chapter in his career. Although the midfielder has a contract with Inter Milan until mid-2023, in Italy they point out that the player plans to return to South America to wear the Flamengo shirt. At the time, the Chilean confessed the affection he feels for the Brazilian institution.

Of course, as soon as it became known that ‘King Arthur’ had the intention of leaving the ‘Neroazzurros’, several clubs interested in his services appeared. As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor, both from the Turkish Super League, asked about the 35-year-old midfielder’s situation. But nothing prospered.

Along the same lines, the sports newspaper revealed that the ‘King’ rejected two important offers: one from Major League Soccer and another from Qatar. The United States club that sought Vidal is unknown, but there was an approach. While Al-Rayyan, where James Rodríguez plays, has great ambitions with the ‘Red’ benchmark.

In fact, the Qatari team was willing to pay him $6 million a year as a salary. In this way, the Chilean has everything to become the new star of the team because it is possible that the Colombian ’10’, his former teammate at Bayern Munich, will leave in the next transfer market.

Closer to the ‘Fla’

Despite the juicy figure that Al-Rayyan puts on the table, ‘King Arturo’ is determined: he wants to put on the ‘Mengao’ jacket. Moreover, after saying no to the United States, Qatar and Turkey, the World Cup player with Chile would have already met with the ‘Rubronegro’ board to negotiate on the numbers of the potential agreement.

“Meeting in Ibiza between the player’s entourage and the Brazilian club’s intermediaries: an agreement is closed for two years, but first the midfielder must pocket the amount from Inter for the early termination of the contract”says the Gazzetta dello Sport. In this regard, the Milan club asks for 4 million dollars for that concept.

“The Brazilians have decided to take the first step, reuniting two days ago with the player and his entourage. The meeting would have been a success despite the initial distance between Vidal’s requests, which points to a treatment similar to that reserved for Gabigol (that is, an annual salary of around 3.5 million), and the offer from the Rio de Janeiro club, which is around 2 million per season”adds the Italian medium.

Meanwhile, ESPN Brasil also reported on this case. “Flamengo knows Vidal’s economic demands and is already preparing to offer the salary that the Chilean wants. Vidal could be the replacement for the departure of Andreas Pereira. The Flamengo leadership knows that the Chilean wants to come. He said ‘no’ to the Arab soccer proposals because of his interest in playing in Brazil and being closer to Chile”indicates about the mapochino and its rapprochement with the ‘Fla’.
