The tense cross between Gallardo and Beccacece in River vs. Defense and Justice: “Who are you?!” | VIDEO

There were no goals at the Norberto ‘Tito’ Tomaghello Stadium, where River Plate vs. Defense and Justice, at the start of the Argentine Professional League. What did happen were several scoring situations and moments of great tension, such as the one between Marcelo Gallardo and Sebastián Beccacece.

It all started at minute 37 of the second half. The DT of the ‘Halcón’ entered the field to prevent Marcelo Herrera from making a side kick and to first change the players in his team. Beccacece even tried to block the execution of the ‘Millo’ player.

After that, the referee Facundo Tello showed the red card and sent him off without hesitation. The action, in fact, was followed from the technical area by Gallardo, who seemed surprised and exchanged a few words with Beccacece when he was on his way to the tunnel on the way to the changing rooms.

“Is he crazy, this one?!”, Gallardo complained to one of the judges. “What’s wrong with you, who are you?!”, replied Beccacece to the ‘Muñeco’, before retiring. The annoyance on the River strategist’s face was evident. After a few seconds, the game resumed.

River Plate, without Franco Armani, Paulo Díaz, David Martínez or Julián Álvarez, tied 0-0 with Defense and Justice, for the first day of the Argentine league.

On the next day, the ‘Millionaire’ will receive Atlético Tucumán at the Monumental de Núñez, on June 11. For his part, the ‘Halcón’ will visit Lanús a day earlier.
