“We are losing 1-0″: the response of the president of the ANFP of Chile after FIFA ruling

After several days of waiting, FIFA ruled in favor of Ecuadora selection that will remain in Qatar 2022. The international organization dismissed the claim of Chili for an apparent bad registration of the footballer Byron Castillowho was pointed out as having been born in Colombia.

At a press conference, Pablo Milad, president of the ANFP, the most important entity in Chilean soccer, indicated that at the moment they are losing 1-0, but that they will present an appeal.

“We are going to present an appeal to the FIFA Appeals Chamber, where we imagine that we can have a result about 20 days after the appeal. We are losing 1-0, but the second half remains”he indicated before the Chilean media.

“The FIFA ruling was surprisingly not in our favour, despite strong evidence. We will wait for the arguments and we will make an appeal to FIFA. If it does not favor us, we are going to go to the TAS”Milad added.

Response in Ecuador

Francisco Egas, president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation, through his Twitter account indicated: “Today sports justice has been done, we always knew how to be on the right side. Let’s go ecuador!”.

For his part, Gustavo Alfaro, coach of the Ecuadorian team, said: “There was not a day, not a morning, not a training session where we thought that the things we won on the pitch were going to change”.
