Alessia Palacios and Valeria Palacios win the gold medal in rowing at the Bolivarian Games

Positive news arrived from Colombia due to Peru’s participation in the Valledupar 2022 Bolivarian Games. This Saturday, Alessia Palacios and Valeria Palacios won the second gold medal for our country. The athletes won the lightweight short row double pair competition.

The Peruvians clocked a time of 03:52.29 in the thousand meters to stay in first place. In the contest, the nationals beat the Chileans Isidora Niemeyer and Josefa Vila (03:55.36), who won the silver medal. While the Paraguayans Adriana Fretes and Gabriela Benítez (03:59.39) took the bronze.

With the triumph of Alessia Palacios and Valeria Palacios, the Peruvian team has added the second gold medal in this edition of the Bolivarian Games. Last Thursday, June 23, Lucas Lutar was crowned in fencing in the men’s individual foil category.

Most rowing medals

The day began with the participation of Gerónimo Hamann. The national representative placed third in the final of a pair of lightweight short rows to earn a bronze. Felipe Cárdenas (Chile) and José Guipe (Venezuela) achieved gold and silver, respectively.

Later, Gustavo Salcedo also won the bronze medal for finishing third in the final of a pair of short rows. The Peruvian was placed behind the Paraguayan Javier Torres (gold) and the Chilean Ignacio Abraham (silver).

Finally, the team made up of Pamela Noya and Adriana Sanguineti won the silver medal in the double pair of short rows. The nationals recorded a time of 03:47.06, behind the Chilean team (03:43.43) and above the Paraguayan cast (03:51.06).
