They decided to speak out. A group of former presidents and former directors of Sporting Cristal issued a statement rejecting the behavior of the administration of the sky-blue team, specifically for not joining the claims before the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).

The former representatives of the Rimense team were against not claiming the FPF for the guests to Qatar for the World Cup repechage. It should be noted that Cristal did not join the statement by Universitario de Deportes, Alianza Lima and Cienciano before the Peruvian soccer authorities.

In this sense, remembered names such as those of FRancisco Lombardi, Felipe Cantuarias and Federico Cuneo signed a document in which they accuse Sporting Cristal of having had a “complicit silence.

The former directors and Presidents of Sporting Cristal make public their rejection of the position of the current club authorities, who instead of joining the transparency requested by other institutions, have remained complicit in silence in clear support of the current FPF “sign the document.

Likewise, they referred to the lawsuit filed by the celestial club on the FPF, the same one that was withdrawn: “We reject the fact that Sporting Cristal has desisted from continuing its claim before the FPF in the TAS, acquiescing to the position of the FPF.”

Sporting Cristal and its statement

The board of the Rimense team issued a statement this Friday night, summoning the media to a press conference with the aim of clarifying the latest facts concerning the club.

“Club Sporting Cristal summons the media to the press conference that will be held by President Joel Raffo, in order to clarify various false statements based on speculation produced in recent days. The appointment will be this Monday, June 27 at noon at the Ciudad Deportiva La Florida”, reads in the statement that the celestial cast published on their social networks.

In recent days, around the Rimense institution there are not only doubts at the sports level, but also from the leadership side. Given this, the president of the institution, Joel Raffo, thought it appropriate to address the media in order to clarify these events.
