Boca Juniors presented the first formal offer to incorporate Arturo Vidal

Boca Juniors has the ambition to put together a team with important names. So far, everything has been pure journalistic speculation. However, the club from La Ribera has already taken the first step to fulfill that great dream. Thus, the board had direct contact with Arturo Vidal, who wants a change of scenery.

This Thursday, TyC Sports reported that the institution launched a formal offer to take over the services of “King Arthur”. In principle, the ‘Xeneizes’ put on the table a contract for three seasons. That period is divided as follows: first agreement until December 2023 and then it can be renewed for another year and a half.

So, from now on, the ball is in the court of the ‘King’, who, at the time, stated that he wants to live the experience linked to the ‘Mundo Boca’. In fact, in an interview he gave, the 35-year-old player assured, words more, words less, that “I was never lucky enough to play at La Bombonera and I always wanted to know what it felt like”.

What is the situation of Arturo Vidal?

The World Cup player with the Chilean team wants to leave Inter Milan, a club to which he is linked until next year. Meanwhile, the player analyzes all the options on the market. The idea is that the midfielder leaves with his pass in hand, after a negotiation with the Serie A team.

At the same time, having this document in your hands will facilitate the operation with the interested parties. It is known that Vidal could try to return to football in Spain, where he already played for Barcelona. There are also alternatives to return to South America. In this part of the world, Flamengo goes to great lengths to sign the two-time Copa América champion with the ‘Roja’.

Boca and Vidal: the regulatory problem

The rules of the Argentine Soccer Association (AFA) indicate that clubs can have six foreign soccer players on the squad. Of that amount, only five can appear on the official match sheet. Today, Boca already has those seats with the Peruvians Luis Advíncula and Carlos Zambrano, the Colombians Jorman Campuzano and Sebastián Villa, the Paraguayan Óscar Romero and the Venezuelan Jan Hurtado, who will return from his assignment in Brazil. There is the obstacle for Vidal to join, for now.
