Almost two years without the sale of players: the big mistake that Peruvian clubs cannot solve

“They had already been following Pacheco for a year”César Gonzales, the striker’s agent, tells El Comercio that he will have his second chance abroad after passing through Fluminense at the beginning of 2020.

Emmen FC has taken the position of receiving the Peruvians thanks to the good experiences it has had with previous cases, such as Sergio Peña and Miguel Araujo. Didier La Torre, Jean Pierre Rhyner and now the two mentioned also passed through there.

“Very good, that’s what agents are for, to get important clubs in players who don’t have a great present today and need opportunities”ex-soccer player Germán Alemanno, now dedicated to being a player agent, published on social networks.

Reason is not lacking for the former attacker. There is a lot of management of the representatives, who have to move to find a future for their players. The clubs, for now, still cannot give the best exposure to their jewels.

no sales

The clubs ‘save’ by getting rid of players, but they are not generating income. At the end of last year, players like Raziel García, Jordan Guivin (he returned to join Universitario), Rolando Díaz, Franco León left, but none of them were direct sales of the club.

The last time that a local institution generated income from a sale was Binacional, with the departure of Aldair Rodríguez to Cali de Colombia, in October 2020. In other words, it has been more than a year and a half without any national club being able to export a player.

“In 2020 there were those five sales. In 2021 there were no more sales”tells us Franz Tamayo, a Peruvian journalist from Grupo El Comercio who follows everything that is the movement of the market of passes of Peruvians abroad.

After those five mentioned, several Peruvian players have managed to make passes to different clubs. Matías Succar left for Austria after being released from Deportivo Municipal at the end of 2020. Now, the young attacker has made his comeback and will be Mannucci’s ‘9’ for the Clausura. He had the chance to get to Universitario, but he left for the north of the country.

Resolving contracts or waiting for the end of it seems a common method when looking for a new future. Didier La Torre did it with Alianza Lima, Kevin Quevedo before. Now, Gonzalo Sánchez marked Emmen FC free.

The sale, beyond generating resources for the Peruvian clubs, also generates a sports obligation in the teams they hire. “For a free player, the club that acquires him does not have the same patience as a player for whom he decided to pay for a transfer to another club”, was the conclusion of agents such as Carlos Gonzales (Agreff) and Fabrizio Biancato (Redde ) a few months ago when we made a balance of Peruvian exports.

Thus, the clubs are still in debt to place their young values on the market. Therefore, today it is important that Christofer Gonzales can be transferred by Cristal to Arab football and that at the end of the University year he can do something with Alex Valera. That Jairo Concha (Alianza Lima) be exportable or Percy Liza (Cristal) or Luis Iberico (Melgar) have that chance. Not only for them and the national team, but also for the economy of the clubs.
