Oncosalud and the FPF join the fight against breast cancer

Monday, October 17, 2022. Within the framework of the International Day to Fight Breast Cancer, Oncosalud and the Peruvian Football Federation come together in an unprecedented alliance for the League1 Betssondonating mammograms and helping to prevent this disease, for which 5 women lose their lives daily in Peru.

On date 17 of the Betsson League 1, Oncosalud will donate 4 mammograms for each goal scored in each of the 9 games to be played. The mammograms will be aimed at women from vulnerable populations, who will benefit from the support of the NGO Juguete Pendiente. In this way, the 19 teams will be able to contribute with their efforts on the field to spread this important prevention message and save lives. On the 17th, the real competition will be breast cancer.

“From the Professional Football League we do not hesitate to join this great initiative, coordinating efforts and seeking to raise awareness regarding the prevention of breast cancer. Early detection increases the chances of curing this disease. In the competition, public attendance at the stadiums that enjoy very competitive matches has increased significantly. We do not doubt that the 17th date of the Betsson League1 will be the same and, in addition to that, we hope that she will be the highest scorer and thus these mammograms can be donated, ”said Víctor Villavicencio, general manager of the Professional Soccer League.

In his turn, Eduardo Quintanilla, marketing manager of Auna, added that “This alliance reinforces the commitment of Auna and its Oncosalud brand with the prevention of breast cancer. Mammograms are one of the few tools for early-stage breast cancer detection and we know that there are women who are less likely to access one due to different factors or who have never had one. Football is a powerful vehicle to convey this message.”

In addition to the donation, it is expected that this type of action refocuses the efforts and the sensitivity of the population regarding breast cancer after two years of pandemic where the situation caused it to go into the background.

Participating in the press conference were Victor Villavicencio, general manager of the Professional Football League, Eduardo Quintanilla, marketing manager of Auna, and Percy Olivares, ambassador of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF).
