They file a lawsuit for the delay in the declassification of the files on the assassination of John F. Kennedy

An organization dedicated to collecting data on the murder of John F. Kennedy denounced this Wednesday to the Administration of the American president, Joe Biden, and to the National Archives so that they publish all the classified information on the assassination of the former president.

The lawsuit, filed in a court of California by Mary Ferrell Foundation, demands that the Justice annul the order by which Bidenupon taking office in January 2021, asked that the publication of those documents be postponed until the end of this year.

Although it has already been published a lot of information about Kennedy’s assassination on November 22, 1963, more than 16,000 documents that should have come to light on October 26, 2017 remain secret, according to an act approved by Congress in 1992 during the term of Democrat Bill Clinton (1993-2001).

However, when the date approached, Republican Donald Trump (2017-2021), who then occupied the White House, signed an order that postponed the publication of all reports.

For its part, Biden had also requested another postponement on the grounds that the pandemic prevented National Archives workers from properly reviewing all documents.

The Democratic president also asked that the National Archives review that information and recommend to the White House which parts should remain private. In December 2021, the entity published 1,500 documents, although it did not rule on the rest.

The complaint asks that such ordinances be considered illegal because they go against the 1992 act, which indicates that all information related to the event should be disclosed, except that which poses a risk to national security.

“It is time for the government to get down to business and obey the spirit and letter of the law”said the vice president of the Mary Ferrell Foundation, Jefferson Morley, who presents himself as an expert on the Kennedy assassination and the CIA.

Even members of the Kennedy family, such as his grandson Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have previously insisted on the authorities to uncover that documentation.
