Racing expelled two soccer players from the women’s team for celebrating the Boca title | PHOTO

The pain of losing the Professional League title persists inside Racing Club. Then, in the midst of that harsh scenario, a video appeared on social networks that caused annoyance in the board. To be more precise, the women’s team players Lourdes Martínez and Milagros Menna are the protagonists of the aforementioned scene.

Martínez, who acts as a striker, and Menna, who plays as a defender, appeared in a video celebrating the championship won by the La Ribera club. Both athletes wore clothes alluding to the ‘Xeneizes’ and sang songs linked to the rival cast from El Obelisco, in the City of Buenos Aires.

Faced with this, the high command of the ‘Academy’ acted immediately. In this way, Daniel García, the head of the women’s team, reported that the 20-year-old attacker and the 24-year-old defender have been separated from the team due to the images that caused outrage among the high command and the fans.

TyC Sports specifies that Martínez and Menna will continue to receive their salary, but they will not train with the rest of their teammates. So far it is unknown if the Avellaneda entity will take a more drastic measure in relation to Lourdes and Milagros.

Two cases in the men’s team

On the other hand, the Doble Amarilla page indicated that the leaders of Racing began an investigation regarding the movements of Maximiliano Romero and Edwin Cardona on social networks. The two “liked” Instagram posts with themes related to the championship achieved by Boca.

The Colombian thing would be even more serious, since the interaction on the Internet was directly with the official account of the ‘Xeneizes’. But in this particular case there is a precedent with the steering wheel, since he no longer counted for coach Fernando Gago after giving a positive breathalyzer test.

What happened to Racing and Boca in the League?

Boca reached the last date with the first option to become champion and depended on himself. Meanwhile, Racing had the obligation to win and wait for a stumble from the cast of Hugo Ibarra. Because of how the closing day unfolded, the ‘Academy’ had the title in its pocket.

Independiente, Racing’s arch-rival, tied the Boquenses (2-2). With this, those of Gago had to win to be the monarchs. What’s more, they had a chance through a penalty, but they wasted it and, on top of that, River won 1-2 and there was total silence in El Cilindro; while in La Bombonera everything was a party.
