Lapadula’s lament after Cagliari’s draw: “I would trade the goal for the three points”

Gianluca Lapadula once again shouted a goal in a Cagliari shirt, after six games. The forward of the Peruvian national team opened the account for his team against Reggina, in a clash for the eleventh day of the Italian Serie B. The score, however, was not enough for victory: it was a 1-1 draw at Unipol Domus.

“I would exchange the goal for the three points, this team deserves it and I regret the draw. We started well in terms of performance and in the last outings we lacked fierceness. A pity for the draw”said the ‘Bambino’ at a press conference, after the commitment.

On the other hand, Lapadula referred to the criticism for the recent results and was confident that the team will achieve its goals. “I assure you that we really want to win, criticism must be transformed into motivation, our fans are an added value, but I am sure that we will achieve our goals”he indicated.

Lapadula, who has two goals in ten games for Cagliari in the Italian promotion league, also acknowledged that there is suffering due to the difficult moment of the Sardinian team, although he emphasized that there is unity in the group.

“Any attacker outside the area suffers. We are working hard to get to what we have to do, it is a time when there is suffering, but we are very united. The goal is important for a striker”concluded the 32-year-old athlete.

Where is Cagliari in Serie B?

Cagliari is in the tenth place in the Italian championship, with fifteen points, the product of four wins, three draws and four losses. The team from Lapadula will have to turn the page and concentrate on Südtirol, which they will face on Saturday, November 5.
