Luis Urruti will renew with Universitario for 2023: it will not influence if he fails to nationalize

The 2022 season ended for Universitario a few weeks ago and, immediately, the board began planning the next campaign. Coach Carlos Compagnucci, with the help of his assistants, has been analyzing the make-up of his squad and there are some players who will remain at the club, as is the case of Luis Urruti.

The 30-year-old attacker, who missed a large part of the activity in the year due to torn ligaments and meniscus in the knee, had minutes in the last games of the course and his soccer characteristics convinced the DT. In this sense, RPP revealed that “Tito” will remain in Ate for the 2023 campaign.

In the same way, Universitario does not intend to condition the renewal of Luis Urruti with obtaining his naturalization: he will extend his contract either as a Peruvian or Uruguayan citizen. Let’s remember that the offensive end had already started the documentary process a few weeks ago.

Even, the player was not part of the call on the last day of the Closing Tournament, since the date coincided with the exam that he was going to take to continue the procedures. After passing the aforementioned test, now the footballer is waiting to know the next step to follow to complete the modification of his nationality.

Let us remember that Luis Urruti arrived at Universitario de Deportes in 2020, from River Plate in Uruguay. Although physical problems have prevented ‘Tito’ from having great continuity, he has shown what he can do in the games he has played. In this 2022, the attacker participated in nine matches of the local tournament and provided four assists.
