The young women were all consenting, defends the player

For the second day in a row, the floor was given to Benjamin Mendy on Tuesday in the context of his trial, where he is accused of seven rapes, an attempted rape and a sexual assault against seven women. While it was originally only a question of the first two complainants, the Manchester City left-back, currently suspended by his club, has finally spoken on all the charges against him before Chester Crown Court.

“Embarrassed” by his parties during confinement

The French footballer defended himself point by point at the helm. Regarding “Women one”, as the complainants are called, he assured that the young woman was more interested in a friend, but that he actually surprised her in the shower one evening and that he “suggested to her to having sex”. She said no, to which he replied that he was “okay with that”, according to comments reported by RMC Sports and the Manchester Evening News.

Subsequently, when asked about the parties organized at his home in full confinement, Mendy admitted that “it was not the right thing to do” and that he was “embarrassed” by his behavior. But when explaining the accusations of the second complainant, according to whom he raped her three times during this period, the former OM player repeated that “no”, the latter had never explicitly refused or asked him to stop.

Consent “1000%”

Same tone for the following cases. “In the swimming pool, she followed me. She was dancing in front of me. I was moving away, ”he said of the third complainant, while the fourth, with whom he had a sexual relationship, never expressed his refusal, according to him. As for the last two women, Mendy disputes their version of the facts, in particular the sixth, consenting “1000%” according to the way “in which she spoke”, telling him that she found him “sexy”.

Then questioned very closely by the young women’s lawyer, Benjamin Mendy did not deviate from his line of defense. “I didn’t think it could be wrong when we were consenting,” he said. While recognizing that “yes”, he had made love to women he did not know and who sometimes had just slept with a friend. While assuming the fact that he drank, yes, but he knew his limits. “I didn’t drink to the point of doing anything bad,” asserted the player. The trial continues on Wednesday.
