Pedri on the Qatar 2022 World Cup: “If Spain doesn’t win it, let Messi win it with Argentina”

He is living his dream and with bigger and bigger goals. Pedri appeared on the squad list of the Spanish National Team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup at just 19 years old. The Barcelona footballer was encouraged to give favorites and highlight Lionel Messi along with Argentina.

Pedri was consulted, in statements to Marca, about the possibility that Spain has of winning the World Cup: “It’s hard to say this before you start, you have to see yourself in the situation. We have a good team and we have to go for it”.

Regarding his favourites, Pedri highlighted that “Brazil and Argentina are two spectacular teams”. In addition, he believes that Messi deserved a World Cup and that “Hopefully we win it, but if Spain doesn’t win it, let him win it with Argentina.”

What teams do you want to play with? Pedri maintained that his dream is to be in “the final. I would like a match against Argentina for Leo or against the Netherlands for Frenkie”.

On the other hand, Barcelona’s key footballer stated that he would like to take Neymar’s shirt in the World Cup, while watching videos of footballers who have his position as Kevin de Bruyne.

Regarding his age and his presence in the 2022 World Cup, Pedri maintained that “I think that if I am here it is because I am prepared and because the coach has given me the opportunity and the confidence. I don’t think I missed stages”.
