Netherlands: list with Javi Simons, all about Oranja at the 2022 World Cup

At every World Cup, the Netherlands is among the declared scarecrows of the competition … At every World Cup or almost, starting from the finalists of the 2010 World Cup and the semi-finalists of 2014, to everyone’s surprise, Russia was not seen. The Dutch were able to wash away the insult and qualify for the 2022 tournament, where they intend to live up to their status.

Story

The Netherlands is the only country to have played three World Cup finals and never won, but not the one to have lost the most finals. Germany, for its part, lost four (1666, 1982, 1986, 2002). But she also won the World Championship four times.

Team uniform

The Netherlands emerge victorious from a qualifying group that is not easily perceived, including Turkey and Erling Haaland’s Norway. Backed by the inspirational Memphis Depay (12 goals, second scorer in qualifying with Harry Kane), the Dutch have shown they have talent at all levels. The team consists of a backbone of regular players from the best clubs in Europe. Louis van Gaal has been able to revive the Dutch side that needed him after the 2018 lack of qualification debacle and comes out against Senegal in his first match (November 21) with much more confidence in his abilities.

List of Featured Players

This is perhaps one of the most amazing lists of this World Cup. Manager Louis Van Gaal didn’t hesitate to make a serious choice, dropping new Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberh, former Lille player at Newcastle Sven Botman and outspoken Ajax Brian Brobbie. His absence benefits Javi Simons in particular, the most beautiful surprise on the list.

  • Guardians: Justin Bijlow (Feyenoord), Andris Noppert (Heerenveen), Remko Pasver (Ajax).

Likely composition

LP

Troops Orange mostly in front and behind. With Memphis Depay on the attack, the Netherlands could surprise anyone as long as the Barcelona player is in the big game. On defense, the Ake-Van Dijk-Timber trio seems to be one of the strongest in the competition.

Player to watch: Denzel Dumfries

Dumfries was one of the revelations of the last Euro. The 26-year-old right piston was noted for his wild activity in the group stage (2 goals) and has not left 11th place since. Now with Inter Milan, he arrives in Qatar with a lot of experience and maturity, not too much to play in his very first World Cup.
