Qatar 2022 World Cup: Hugo Lloris maintained that he will not wear any inclusive bracelet as captain of France

This year’s World Cup has generated more than one controversy due to the traditions and ideologies of the organizing country. Hugo Lloris confirmed to AFP that he will not wear any bracelet in favor of inclusion during the 2022 World Cup that is being organized in Qatar, after maintaining uncertainty about this initiative, which still has no response from FIFA.

Asked again about this issue on the sidelines of an interview with AFP at the Clairefontaine training center (near Paris), the goalkeeper of the current world champion did not want to extend.

“Will he wear this colored bracelet like other European captains, like those of Germany and England?” Was the question that was asked and Lloris replied that “nerd. I replied (on Monday). I was quite clear, there is nothing more to add ”.

At a press conference, Lloris said that he wanted “Show respect” to the organizing country, the target of criticism from NGOs for its management of human rights and minorities. But without stating categorically that he would not wear this bracelet.

“When we host foreigners in France, we often want them to abide by our rules and respect our culture. I will do the same when I go to Qatar.” he pointed out, in line with what the president of the French Federation, Noël Le Graët, said, little inclined to the initiative.

Without Lloris, low, the second captain, Raphaël Varane, wore this colorful armband against Denmark in September.

“For me it is an honor to defend certain values so this will not be a problem”said the Manchester United defender.

This joint operation of some European teams has not yet received the approval of FIFA, which remains silent.
