There was a festival of goals this Thursday night at the Al Bayt Stadium, where Costa Rica vs. Germany. There were six in total. The third and fourth were the work of Juan Pablo Vargas and Kai Havertz, respectively, in a duel for the third day of Group E of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
At minute 70, shortly after Yeltsin Tejeda had scored the goal for the temporary 1-1 tie, Vargas entered the area and, amid the tumult, defined. With that score, that is, the ‘Ticos’ were qualifying for the next round of the contest.

In the end, Germany came from behind to win 4-2. Havertz (85′) was the author of a double and Serge Gnabry (10′) and Niclas Füllkrug (89′) also scored. For Costa Rica, in addition to Vargas, Tejeda (58′) did it in the venue located in the city of Jor.
With the victory, the Germans reached four points and finished third in Group E, with no chance of qualifying for the World Cup round of 16, just like the Central American team. Japan and Spain obtained the tickets to continue in the race in the twenty-second edition of the World Cup.
