CNOSF: President recovers more than 4,000 euros in improper expenses, including salty taxi bills

This is the first time Bridget Henriquez is on the CNOSF board of directors since her departure two months ago. “This review raised questions, questions that require arbitration,” CNOSF treasurer Michel Callo, who did not wish to name a specific amount, told reporters.

“These are expenses that were sometimes incurred without really knowing whether it was CNOSF’s responsibility to pay them, and each time we made a decision not against the president so that there were no problems,” he said, he adds.

According to an internal document seen by AFP and Le Parisien/Today in France, these costs of €4,184.35 are broken down into taxi bills, double billing errors, or costs for which no supporting documentation was available. In particular, there are bills for a “taxi-police station” in the amount of 1,580 euros used by the president, in particular when she filed a complaint of “psychological abuse” against her former general secretary Didier Seminet.

When asked about this amount of 4,000 euros as unjustified expenses this week, CNOSF refused to answer us. “Everything has been reimbursed and this process has been going on since the beginning of October,” a source close to the body told AFP.

The results of this internal audit, which began shortly after the summer “when we felt a crisis was coming,” according to Michel Callot, were presented on Thursday to board members. “It still raises questions. Obviously, we accept the president’s mistakes quite easily, ”said a member of the board of directors.

“For me, these are not mistakes, but abuses”

According to our information, several opponents continue to demand access to accounts in a transparent manner. The president of the volleyball federation, Eric Tanguy, was given the right to consult with them, “which he did for several days,” said Michel Callot. During this SA, the use of the Havas crisis agency was also mentioned, but did not specify which crisis the agency was called upon to handle. On the other hand, the fees were disclosed: 38,000 euros, or 1,000 euros below the threshold above which a tender must be declared.

“For me, these are not mistakes, but abuses,” concluded Didier Seminé, who was joined by AFP in filing a complaint against Brigitte Henriquez for “defamatory denunciations” and “breach of trust” in early November. “This demonstrates the establishment of a system even on small amounts,” he said.

Regarding her return to the stage after a self-imposed hiatus of two months, exhausted by her conflict with Didier Seminé, Brigitte Henriquez felt that her first SA “went very well”. “If I’m back, it’s because I’m 100% using my abilities. So I feel good,” she added.
