World Cup: when Messi blew up Instagram with a post close to an absolute record

He already had the whole world at his feet. Since Argentina won the title against France this Sunday (3-3, 4 tabs against 2), Lionel Messi hasn’t touched the ground. And it is enough for the best player of the competition to declare himself on social networks for them to light up again. In just sixteen hours, his photo with the trophy was liked by more than 44 million Internet users. At this rate, the absolute record (55.9 million) will soon fall.

On his Instagram account, the captain of the Albicelesta made it easy. The photo shows him waving a cup, presumably towards the audience, with a wide smile on his face.

“WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!” the PSG player broadcasts. I dreamed about it so many times, I wanted it so much that I can’t believe it, I can’t believe it… Many thanks to my family, to all those who support me, and also to all those who believed in us. We prove once again that the Argentines, when we fight together and unite, are able to achieve what we want. The credit belongs to this group, which is above individuality, it is our strength to fight for the same dream that all Argentines had… We did it!!! »

The second top scorer in the World Cup, one foot behind Kylian Mbappe (8 goals), Messi regularly ranks first on Instagram. A photo posted on November 19 showing him playing chess with Cristiano Ronaldo in a Louis Vuitton ad received 41.9 million likes. The Copa America in the summer of 2021 accounts for 22 million.

The site’s record remains a photo of a simple egg on a white background, at least with 55.9 million. For now…
