World Cup: PSG will receive 3 million euros thanks to the World Cup of their players

With two players present in the World Cup final and winner Leo Messi with Argentina, PSG have emerged as the top winners of this World Cup contested in Qatar. And thanks to the good progress of their national teams, the capital club will also receive a significant financial surprise.

Since 2010, FIFA has introduced a compensation system for clubs that release their players to participate in competitions organized by the world body. The respective formations receive about 10,000 euros per player, a figure multiplied by the number of days of presence with a choice. In total, Ligue 1 clubs will share €12.1m of the €200m allocated, with PSG receiving the largest share.

Di Maria and Paredes brought money to PSG

With eleven internationals (Messi, Mbappe, Hakimi, Neymar, Marquinhos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Danilo, Soler, Sarabia, Navas), the Paris club was the biggest supplier on French soil, ahead of Stade Rennes. (8 players), AS Monaco (6 players) and Olympique de Marseille (5 players). So it’s almost 3.1 million euros that will go into the treasury of PSG thanks to the good rate of its players. It is ahead of AS Monaco (1.46 million euros) and OM (1.42 million euros).

Neymar and Marquinhos, the quarter-finalists of the Brazilian national team, earned almost 265,000 euros each. Ashraf Hakimi allows the Parisian club to receive 300,000 euros after the semi-final with Morocco. PSG receive 700,000 euros thanks to the excellent careers of two finalists Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Other internationals also helped fan the attractive envelope the club received from the capital. FIFA rules state that any player who has spent the last two years at the club earns him money on a pro rata basis. This is especially the case for Argentine world champion Ángel Di Maria, who joined Juventus in Turin, and Leandro Paredes, who was loaned to the same club last summer.
