National 2: administrative error… and Poissy loses 7 points and 4 places in the standings

This is how an administrative error spoils a great start to the season on the field. Third in Group A of the National 2 with 25 points, after Racing CFF and Rouen last week, Poissy is now 7th in the new ranking published by the FFF. The Yvelines have just lost seven points on the green carpet and instead of looking ahead, they are only four points ahead of the relegated team.

On 10 September, Poissy put in a great performance by beating Rouen 2-0 on the 4th day. But on October 5, Normand Club sent an email to the FFF claiming that the medical certificates featured in the 2022-23 license applications for two players, Yves Gedje and Thomas Skolsky, provide no guarantee of authenticity. The Ligue de Paris-Île-de-France filed disciplinary proceedings for using a false medical certificate in making about twenty license requests at the start of the season.

“We did not play with players under a fake license”

Poissy denied that they were trying to deceive. “We did not play with players under a fake license,” President Olivier Shevchuk explained to us. Inside, the case caused a commotion. Fabrice Proisy, secretary of the club, fired. “I didn’t do it lightly,” continued Olivier Shevchuk. It hurts me to fire him, among other things. But the error lies with him. He came up with this initiative alone, and I would not have understood that two players who had already been dismissed in Poissy for 2 years, and who were told by the secretary that they should not come there, should be sanctioned. They have nothing to do with it, neither do I. »

The Regional Disciplinary Committee (CFRC) found Fabrice Proisy liable, disqualifying him for two years. Thus, the two players who played 4 matches – Rennes on August 20 (3: 1), Blois on August 27 (2: 0), Granville on September 3 (4: 3) and Rouen on September 10 – with invalid documents, discarded.

Rouen won their match by winning on the green carpet, four points short (three plus another penalty) from Poissy. The results of the three previous meetings have already been approved without the possibility of appeal, since they have been disputed for more than 30 days. But the CFRC still decided to deduct a point from Poissy for each of those three games.

Leaders think before they appeal

“Consequently, considering that in an attempt to restore a certain sporting fairness between Poissy and his opponents (…) in accordance with Article 4.1.1 of the FFF Disciplinary Regulations, 1 point is deducted for each match in which the two players in question participated irregularly and for whom challenge is impossible because of his approval.

The CFRC even pointed out that “Given that this does not appear to have been considered by the Paris-Ile-de-France League, it seems appropriate to invite the FFF to file a complaint”…

As for Poissy, we are stunned by this verdict. Leaders want to take their time to consider whether to appeal this very harsh sanction.
