Luis Suárez would have reached an agreement with Gremio de Porto Alegre

Luis Suarez arrived in Rosario (Argentina) to celebrate Christmas with his friend and world champion, Lionel Messi. However, his football destiny would be in Brazilian lands, more precisely in the city of Porto Alegre.

According to Rio de Janeiro media, the 35-year-old striker would have already accepted the contractual offer offered by the Gremio and would sign for two seasons. In the last few hours, the player was linked to Cruz Azul, but this operation did not prosper, even with a good amount of money involved.

The Uruguayan is a free player after his short, but successful, stint at the Nacional club, where he scored 8 goals in 16 games played. Without a doubt, a player with these characteristics is widely sought after by the clubs. Even military opportunities in the MLS also arose, but he was quickly discarded.

‘Lucho’ Suárez is expected to be the highest paid player in the squad, his salary would be above the current figures of the ‘Tricolor’: Lucas Leiva, Lucas Silva and Diego Churín. Well, it is estimated that he would disburse around 3 million dollars a year plus incentives.

Gremio returns to Serie A of Brazilian soccer after a terrifying season in the second division. And he hopes to make up for his fans by giving them back their joy.
