Pierre Carras is no more. Known in the world of athletics for being the coach of Christophe Lemaitre all his life, he died on Saturday, December 31, shortly after suffering a stroke. He was 82 years old.
Karraz and Lemaitre began their collaboration in 2005 at the Aix-les-Bains athletics club. They knew everything together. Rise, records, medals, European titles and recent more difficult years. Within a few months, if he still remained in Lemaitre’s entourage, Karras lagged behind a little in the daily life of an athlete, giving way to Thierry Tribondeaux.
“This is the person who coached me, who best identified my potential and was able to use my strengths to move forward and make the career that I do today,” reacted Christophe Lemaitre from the team. He is a coach who has always been on the slopes. He knew how to train young people, to push them […]. He told the media that if I was in someone’s hands, I would have the same career. I don’t think so, to be honest, I came across the best person who coached me. I could not have dreamed of a better coach. »
