Messi raised a fake cup in his iconic celebration after winning the World Cup

A real stir has caused the revelation of an unusual detail in the midst of the festivities of Argentina after winning the World Cup. In the Lusail stadium, after a vibrant definition against France, Lionel Messi he was the center of attention and starred in his most iconic photograph with the World Cup in his hands. The image went viral and has more than 74 million “likes” on Instagram, like no other, but something no less went unnoticed: it was a fake trophy. She knows the story below.

After the effervescence by the third star after 36 years, in Argentina they discovered that the cup held by the “Flea” is actually a replica.

Fernando de la Orden, an Argentine photographer, was the one who pointed out the anecdotal by sharing a photo of Di María showing Messi the base of the cup that he had been walking around the entire field in full celebration. A colleague asked him what both cracks were saying at that time and his answer surprised everyone. “Di María told Leo that he had turned (mini) around with a trout glass, he had the real one, that’s why they laughed,” he replied.

The owners of the object were Paula Zuzulich and Manuel Zaro, a couple who managed to get the replica onto the field after the final whistle through a relative of Leandro Paredes, with the aim of getting it signed. Everything got out of control and the cup ended up being the protagonist.

“We take the cup to the stadium stored in our backpack so that it cannot be seen. She entered the field of play, the players grabbed her and Leo ends up spinning around with the cup,” said Manuel Zaro in dialogue with El Clarin. “We got Leandro Paredes, Lautaro Martínez, Guido Rodríguez, Nico González and Angelito Di María to sign it,” he proudly commented.

The detail is nothing more than singular for most, however, many have criticized the couple for causing Messi to appear in historical photographs with a fake World Cup, while the original was paraded in Lusail by others.
