After several days of negotiations, Brest and Augsburg have agreed on the transfer of 25-year-old striker Irvin Cardona, who has made just ten league appearances and only started once this season with the Breton club.
While he hinted at very good things about his first two seasons at Finistère, the former Monegasque has been losing ground for months now. According to our information, he arrived in Augsburg for a medical examination on Tuesday. If all goes according to plan, he will stay until June 2027, currently ranked 14th in the Bundesliga.
Irvin Cardona made 106 appearances at Stade Brestois, scoring 19 goals and making six assists. This is the second start of the winter in the Breton ranks after Jere Uronen, who joined Schalke 04 on a paid loan with an option to buy. Cardona and Uronen could face off in the Augsburg-Schalke 04 match scheduled for March 18th.
