At the Stade Rennes for more than a decade, Gela Doue continues her adventure. According to our information, the young 20-year-old defender, whose contract ended at the end of the season, is due to extend another two seasons with his training club on Tuesday. Turning professional in November 2021, he only signed a contract until June 2023, but with a two-year option that the Breton leaders decided to activate during the season.
Still unused in the top flight by Bruno Genesio, he has made several appearances on the bench, most recently against PSG (1-0) on Sunday. Appreciated by his coaches for his hard work and versatility, Gela Dowe enjoys playing at right back, but he can also play in central defense or midfield.
It was in midfield that he participated in the victory of Rennes in a friendly match against Brest (3: 1) on December 22 at Roazon Park. He belongs to the 2002 generation that produced some promising players such as Eduardo Camavinga, Brandon Soppi or Georginio Rutter, who just made the news with his move to Leeds.
